West Nottingham Academy ($48,210.00)

Founded in 1744, West Nottingham Academy is the oldest boarding school in America. It is a small, residential school for college-bound students and offers a college preparatory program that emphasizes critical thinking. Instead of students simply hearing the information, WNA wants each student to develop his or her own passion for learning as they get ready for college and life. Students also spend each day at WNA participating in many activities - examining concepts in the classroom, competing in athletics, and developing life-long connections with friends, faculty, and staff. A sense of community is at the heart of life at WNA. Living in one of the four residential halls (East, West, Rush, or Rowland) gives students the perfect chance to get ready for college life. Each hall is fully equipped with all the essential comforts - flat-screen televisions, a lounge, washer and dryer, kitchenette, and internet access. WNA is on a beautiful campus near the Chesapeake Bay. Located in the heart of the Mid-Atlantic region, WNA is only ninety minutes from Washington, D.C., two and a half hours from New York City, and sixty minutes from Baltimore and Philadelphia. Its location is beneficial for students as there is so much do do and see outside of school - catch a film, visit an art gallery, go shopping, or hang out with friends.

New Hope Academy ($28,980.00)

New Hope Academy is a K through 12 private school and preschool which emphasizes a strong academic program and character development based on family values universal to people of all faiths. NHA provides a well-rounded college preparatory, liberal arts-style curriculum designed to prepare students to be future leaders. At NHA, 25% of the school's high school students have been recognized by the President's Education Awards Program for their academic excellence in maintaining a 3.5 grade point average or higher. Emphasis is placed on guiding children to become people of integrity with a strong moral compass. Because of its small size, NHA is able to individualize the educational program in order to better meet the unique nature, goals, and needs of each student. This is especially true at New Hope International High School, a component of New Hope Academy where over 20 faiths and countries are represented as each year the school has between 12 and 14 international students. Located on an 8-acre campus in Landover Hills, Prince George's County, Maryland (a suburb of Washington, D.C.), this spacious former public school has a computer lab and high-end computers in every classroom, a science lab, a foreign language studio, an art studio, a library, a gymnasium, and a professional quality dance studio.
