The Village School ($50,825.00)

The Village School is a coeducational college preparatory private school for grades Pre-K through High School and is a member of the Meritas family of schools. The school provides a rigorous academic curriculum that challenges students to be critical thinkers and life-long learners in a supportive and nurturing environment. Village High School offers the International Baccalaureate Diploma program and boarding opportunities through Meritas Elite Boarding Program. Students at all grade levels participate in competitive athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular activities. Elite Boarding students live in newly-built dormitories on campus which provides convenient access to school facilities and activities, while also providing a comfortable and nurturing living environment for the students. The dorms are staffed by one or more full-time dorm parents. The dorm parents serve as surrogate parents to ensure proper behavior, monitor study habits, mediate conflict, and create a sense of community for the students. The school campus sits on 20+ acres with 150,000 square feet of classroom and building space outfitted with "smart" classroom technology and Wi-Fi. This includes two gymnasiums, cafeteria, multiple science and computer labs, two libraries, music and art rooms, a dance studio, dormitories, and outdoor athletic fields.     

 

The Griffin School ($28,704.13)

Based in Austin, Texas, The Griffin School is a college preparatory high school community defined by academic rigor and creativity. Its mission is to cultivate individual potential and intellectual curiosity within a vibrant and engaged community. The belief is that students learn best in a creative and personalized environment that encourages expression and interaction. Core classes do not exceed 12-15 students allowing for intimate classroom communities in which students and teachers develop genuine relationships. The school curriculum and instructional programs provide a rigorous and interactive course of study that is designed to develop a solid foundation in core academics and prepare students for college success. This includes a broad foundation in English language and literature, fine arts, foreign language, history, math, and science. The arts are an emphasis for the whole program and are cross-referenced throughout the curriculum. Advanced Placement programs are offered across the core curriculum and in the fine arts, and the math and science classes are just as solid and excellent as those in the humanities.
