Evangelical Christian Academy was established in 1971 to provide a Christian day school for the children of Evangelical Presbyterian Church congregation. Today there are about 350 students representing over 50 churches in the Colorado Springs vicinity. ECA's curriculum, procedures, programs, and facilities undergo an ongoing, intensive evaluation in order to maintain the highest standards possible. Colorado Springs is the second largest city in the state of Colorado and was nominated the fourth fittest city in the United States. Besides being a world-renowned destination for year-round outdoor activities such as running, cycling, and winter sports, Colorado Springs, with features of a modern urban area, also possesses a dynamic cultural scene and many historic sites. Visitors and locals enjoy parks, bake trails, urban open-area spaces, business and commerce areas, theatres, and other sources of entertainment. The town was first established as an upscale resort community, though the older mining supply center of Colorado City was merged later, and the tourist industry has remained strong and offers many activities and attractions.

Denver's downtown district, located only 12 miles from the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, offers a multitude of museums, shopping, dining, and sightseeing. Denver also offers a great deal of sports and recreation within the city limits like biking and professional sports. But outside the city limits lies even greater outdoors adventures such as snowmobiling, skiing, snowboarding, rafting, hiking.
